I wrote this arrangement for Angela and Hamp in 97. After the recording he expressed his feelings for Angela and the arrangement by writing on the first page of my score. — with LIONEL HAMPTON.

2001-Lionel's 92nd Birthday. Hamp blowing out candles from a cake that Angela baked. He called the next day to say that Angela's cake "stole the show." — with LIONEL HAMPTON.

A relic. Just got this photo from May Pang. May took this picture during the recording of John Lennon's "Walls and Bridges" album way back in the 70's. I saw this photo for the first time in May's book "Instamatic Karma" several months ago. May was kind enough to send me a copy. I'm on the left.
